Our baby girl had her appointment yesterday, she continues to amaze us, her blood work looks normal apart from her ferritin being a bit elevated last week. We should find out today if they have regulated. We will be having an ultrasound next week to take a look at her liver and spleen. The beautiful blond lady in the picture is Dr. Halton, Our HLH specialist from CHEO. She is the one who has done so much great work looking after our Magnolia. We have know her for 9 years now and are very thankful to have her to rely on. All the familiar faces from CHEO have been a comfort to us through this stressful situation.
Dr. Halton has explained to us that Toronto will most likely accept us for BMT but that they are waiting for RAMQ (Quebec insurance) to approve us to be treated there. We were also informed that there were three perfect matches for Magnolia's transplant, one has been removed since they had recently had a blood transfusion. The other two will be screened and we were told that Elijah, our two year old will be tested as a last resort donor.
