Today in our local paper ( The Equity ) was written a beautiful article on our family, everything we have been through regarding (HLH) in the past few years and highlighting our unborn baby girl Magnolia, although it is a sad and hard situation, I feel that having a spotlight on our daughter is cause for celebration. She is my little star, she will be born a fighter and in my heart, I feel she will amaze us all. I am thankful to all the people supporting our cause, rooting and praying for her. Simply saying thank you will never feel like enough but I want everyone to know that every bit of help and positive word of encouragement has been very uplifting.
WHATS NEW
I received good news from CHEO today! HLA typing which is what is needed to find a match for Magnolia's (Bone Marrow Transplant) will be done on a sample of tissue that was taken when we first did testing to see if she had the disease back in July. This means that the process of finding a match can be done much faster, instead of waiting until she is born and only starting the search then, we can start it now. This speeds everything up which is a very good thing in Magnolia's case, since we know 100% that she will be needing the transplant.
I get to see my princess again on Monday Dec 15th, I am growing nervous but I try to stay positive and take things one day at a time. We are taking small steps trying to prepare things for baby Maggie as though it were a normal pregnancy, we just set up her crib which is for us a big deal. This crib is the same one we had bought for Isaac 9 years ago. It was set up beautifully in a gorgeous nursery waiting for his arrival, how many times had I pictured him there in his bed?
Then when he finally came, he slept with me, then he became ill and his crib became a metal one in a sterile hospital room :(
Long story short, Isaac never used that brand new crib, no baby has...
So putting it up is both a thorn in my side and a wonderful little comfort. I really do think, she will get to use it, I can picture her there, sleeping peacefully. I pray this becomes a reality.
I am sharing a picture of her crib, maybe you can imagine her there too!
Don't mind, I still need to buy a mattress and blanket set but it's a start!
